Advanced Bodice: Pattern Design with Justin Avery
In this 5 week course, we will join local designer Justin Avery as he takes the basic bodice and teaches how to convert it into different styles, sizes and shapes. - Basic Bodice pattern
- 5 yards of muslin
- 6 yards of pattern paper
- Yard stick
- 12" ruler
- Fabric Scissors
- Black, felt tip pen
- Pencil
- Eraser
- 60" measuring tape
- Seam ripper
- Scotch Tape
- Vary form curve
- Lance FC-1 French curve
- Right angle ruler
- Tracing wheel
- Paper cutting scissors

| Instructor Bio: | Justin Avery is a local tailor with more than 30 years experience in the garment construction industry, and holds a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). His specialties include but are not limited to: pattern drafting, wedding dresses, design and construction, general alterations, reconstructions, couture, formal dresses and costuming. He believes in creating garments to fit real bodies, rather than expecting bodies to fit into the narrow range of what is currently considered fashionable. |
